Yangon/ Kyaikhtyo/ Yangon 3 day/ 2 night
Day 01 Yangon-Kyaikhtyo
Overland drive will take you to the site by 180 km [approx 5
hour]. Upon arrival at "Kinpun" base camp at the foot of the
mountain ridge a steep and rough road leads to the upper
staging point, a journey made in open truck. From the upper
camp travelers must, at present. walk the final stage
[approx. 4 km] up steep paths, which ascend some 500m to the
Golden Rock. As an easier alternative to walking, four
porters at an extra cost can carry you in sedan chairs.
Enjoy watching the beauty of sunset and dawn at this
important pilgrimage site. Overnight at the hill-site hotel.
Day 02 Around the hillsite
You will either relax among the sacred
Pagodas or hike around the mountain range to visit the
people in meditation who you may come across in one of the
smaller stupas or caves. Overnight at the hillsite hotel.
Day 03 Kyaikhtyo - Bago - Yangon
Return to the base camp. Where you will
meet your driver and depart for Bago. Visit Shwethalyaung
the world biggest reclining Buddha Image. Continue to
Yangon. en-route to Yangon you may stop by at allied war
memorial of the grave of 37,000 Allied soldiers who
scarified their lives for the British Crown during the WWII.
Upon arrival in Yangon transfer to your hotel to complete
this unique extension.
